Kids, Travel and NYE 09

For the Kids in your Life! Where is Georgie now? I thought it might be fun as I write my blog to give the names of the places I visit and if you would like you can follow along a map of the islands with your kids. So...on January 14 I will be flying into San Juan, Puerto Rico (PR). Where is that? Hmm........
On March 11 I will be flying back from San Juan, PR. While I am in the Caribbean I hope to visit Dominican Republic AND Haiti so...find a BIG map of the Caribbean and you can follow me around the islands if you wish!

What are you up to for New Year's Eve? Last year was a sad NYE celebration with yet another boyfriend breakup gone bad and I will leave it at that. Instead of feeling sorry for myself I went out as I had planned to watch the Sardine drop at Bank Square in Eastport, had a few drinks and saw a few friends at the hoppin' Rose Garden and then ran into my Mom downtown. So we rang in the new year 2x together. We watched the Maple Leaf drop and then the Sardine drop to celebrate the new year for Oh Canada and Oh USA. It was a really beautiful evening with lots of people celebrating together and singing the Canadian and American national anthems.

This year I am waitressing at the Hansom House (HH) in Dennysville. The Black Socks are playing from 7pm until midnight. My Mom helped me put together a shiny outfit for the evening. I am excited to play on NYE and get paid for it as well! I hope you all have a safe and fun New Year's Eve celebration and maybe I will see you at HH.

Home for the holidays!

Greetings! I hope everyone had a grand Christmas. I spent my first Christmas ever with 6 very enthusiastic little children, my friend Bill's nieces and nephews opening presents from their grandparents and aunts and uncles. It was utter chaotic joy! I have never experienced many children opening presents together. It was really fun to be part of this year. This was also the first year in I think 6 years that I had both my parents with me for the day. It was indeed quite special. My beau, Dr. Bill, was generously given lobsters from a client and shared them with us and my cousin Ellen gave us the LARGEST bay scallops ever. We also had Malpec oysters from PEI, a December special at the Superstore in St. Stephen, and a fancy potato salad my friend Dawn made, peas, baked brie and Portuguese goat feta stuffed dates wrapped in bacon. Oh my!
I hope you all had good food and were surrounded by loved ones during your holiday. Squash, my orange tiger kitty, received presents from our neighbors, The Fine Artists and The Bitar Children, Charlie, Katie & Libby. Well, let me tell you, Squash celebrated every one of his new toys, a ping pong ball, a tennis ball, the best catnip bag ever and a blue toy on the end of a stick. Great great NEW fun for him at Kendall Farm.
Happy New Year 2009! G

Portuguese Ethnic Dinner and Snow!

Hello! Wow! What a wild snow and wind storm as we savored such delights as: fetta stuffed bacon wrapped dates, squash and parsley soup, sausage stews, scallop and cherizo stew, meringue cookies, decadent coffee cake, and oodles of Portuguese wine. Then we had a Yankee swap....

Well, I am setting this up so I can let people know the happenings of Kendall Farm, the Kendalls, Squash and his stunts, and ..... my upcoming trip to the Caribbean. New learning curve for me so stay tuned!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Georgie
